I've been inspired by many musicians all my life: John Lee Hooker, BB King, Johnny Cash, John Denver, Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Jimi Hendrix, Vince Gill, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter, John Mayer, Steve Howe, Eric Clapton, Dicky Betts, Mark Knoffler, Warren Haynes, Mike Campbell, Roy Orbison, David Gilmour, Eddie Van Halen, Roger Waters, Roy Acuff, Ronnie Walker, Keith Richards, Pete Townsend, Duane Allman, Derek Trucks ...and on and on and on and on... One of my best guitar playing buddies "CB" (in Wrightsville GA) got me even deeper into the music & history of the Allman Brothers Band. Since our friendship in 2008, we have exchanged guitars, music, and ideas. We have performed a gig for a company picnic one year with other friends. But he always got me to wanting to learn more about Duane Allman and his legacy. So, when I was messing around late one evening in my studio, I came up with this cool chord progression... unlike anythi! ng I ever did (on my own) before. So I layed down the track and thought about how to add some cool bluesy lguitar lead solo's to it. Then I went to the Allman Brothers Museum (The Big House, in Macon GA) and got inspired to play it like I think Duane would have. I had some lousy and good guitar riffs in there. Then I did more homework about Duane. Thats when I put down my favorite guitar (my Custom built Telecaster) and picked back up my Les Paul, and played through the neck pickup for most of the song
